My Philosophy

My Passion is caring for young children. I hold a Child Development Associated Degree. I’m currently a member of the Eastern Washington Family Child Care Association (EWFCCA). I have been a licensed child care provider since 1991. I am committed to enhance and enrich my program through my continued education. My program is based on, “Through play, children grow, learn and develop”.

All people are teachers. We as teachers need to encourage young children to learn through whole body experiences. Using all the senses stimulate creative thinking and problem solving.

Natural play settings open a whole world up to sensory elements – how it sounds, feels, tastes, smells and what things look like. This is why I have created a Natural Play-scape in my outdoor environment. This natural play-scape encourages children of all ages to expand their learning through curiosity. I also incorporate nature within the indoor environment by using what we hear, feel, smell, taste, and see outside into our everyday learning experiences. These are the teachable moments that I don’t want children to miss out on. I feel all children need to be introduced to nature at a very early age. Nature calms and soothes the soul.

The children in my care are very important people and I want each of them to be happy, here as I am conerned about their well-being. If we adults feel secure in our knowledge of what to expect from each other, your child will sense this and feel more secure as well.
